The exhibit, which opened in March 2016, presented groundbreaking Israeli discoveries in large-scale installations in the departures terminal at Ben-Gurion Airport over the course of a year.
The Israel Young Academy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Space; the Ministry of Transportation; and the Government Advertising Agency, mounted a science exhibit at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport. The exhibit, which opened in March 2016, consisted of a yearlong presentation of groundbreaking Israeli discoveries displayed in large-scale installations in the departures terminal. The exhibit included inspiring revelations in the humanities and social sciences, groundbreaking technologies, innovative research in the physical sciences and significant discoveries in the life sciences.
The exhibit presented the best of Israeli science and research to the fifteen million travelers who pass through the airport each year. It also featured images of great minds of the past, from Maimonides to Chaim Weizmann and Albert Einstein; of the winners of prestigious prizes and awards, such as the Nobel Prize; and of distinguished young researchers from universities and research institutes throughout Israel. The images of modern Israeli women and men engaged in research stood at the front of the exhibition to connect visitors to the human factor behind scientific discovery.
